Is it bad to have a nihilistic view towards life?
Well, the short answer is yes because, like the previous answerer said, it can take away from your sense of purpose in life. However, reality says that this is probably true. We're all just individual people who probably won't ever make a difference in the world as a whole (let alone the universe). The fact is that we probably are insignificant as individuals. But therein lies the solution. You have to give your life meaning even though we may be insignificant in the long run. This can be different for everyone (some people find meaning in becoming parents and raising their kids as best they can, some find it in joining the army, and the list goes on). It's probably a bad outlook to compare the meaning of your life to the rest of the world because insignificance will probably be found through that lens. But we should all strive to make our lives significant for ourselves rather than in comparison to the rest of the universe.
